Voldemort at the Door: Anti-Racism & Reparations
Our children are being denied a proper education in a Maoist styled assault of their bodies & minds
Whilst we were (and are) caught up with the gender stuff something very bad has been seeping into the groundwater of schools, cultural institutions and policy.
‘Anti-Racism’ programming.
To the newbies here you might think ‘being anti-racist is a good thing right?, you don’t think RACISM is good do you’??? And in that question exists the very real problem we are faced with. Because in a linguistic sleight of hand some hard left activists have (yet again) weaponised your good nature to let you think that these policies are about addressing ‘racism’ in the sense of ‘people being a**holes to other people on the basis of their skin’. This is NOT that.
Thank you for reading. Please consider supporting my work. You can ‘buy me a coffee’ here. Or become a paid subscriber for as little as £4.00 per month, £30 for the year, or £250 for a founding membership. In January I am planning on launching a You Tube channel with regular posts, but I cannot do it without your help. Every penny makes a difference and allows me to keep speaking out about the failure in safeguarding for our children in schools and cultural institutions. We need to recognise, preserve and celebrate childhood. I really do need it and so very much appreciate it.
And let’s be clear racism IS bad. Which is why even questioning anything with the phrase ‘anti-racism’ has the Harry Potter ‘He whom shall not be named’ power of hush hush hush. But like Harry Potter we need to be able to NAME that which is hurting us, and our children most specifically. To remind us all it was Voldemort who said, ‘There is no good or evil, there is only power and those too weak to seek it’.
What we are dealing with is a Voldemort styled takeover of our education systems through activists from the extreme left and specifically a full blown assault on our children’s lives. I am not exaggerating. So steel yourself with what is about to unfold.
Over the next months I, alongside some other parents and in partnership with the
will be doing a deep dive into the mammoth poisonous “Anti-Racism” hydra that has already infiltrated education, culture and governance. Informed by American Critical Social Justice and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (told you UNCRC was a monster) it is a Maoist styled psychological assault on our children. Led by a small (miniscule) band of extremists it is being given millions of pounds and intimate access to our children. The current model of anti-racism education is not about teaching your child to be tolerant- it’s about ‘identifying oppression’. In other words, character does not matter. In other words, there is no good or evil only power.
I have previously written about the shift in teacher training from a knowledge based model into a model of ‘activism’. Teachers no longer are informed about child development which is obvious when you see the wording of the programming. Here is a screenshot of the anti-racist resource for nursery school children.
Teachers are told they must get 3 and 4 years olds to ‘reflect on positionality, privilege, and power and to unlearn bias, prejudice, and divisiveness’. Have they met a 4 year old?
Young charges will not understand what it is being fed to them. What we see is the start of the political and psychological grooming as they are fed social justice mantras to repeat like nursery rhymes. In addition, not unlike social justice ‘teaching’ in upper schools, embedding this program in nursery years takes away from valuable and enjoyed playtime. It also takes up teacher resources.
On that note, there is another worrying trend to consider. The impact is not just on the children but on how teachers are being indoctrinated to *think* about children. Children. We must remember that it is not so much in the distant past that there were no protections for children whose employment in factories was by the by. We cannot take for granted the shift in how adults see their responsibility in caring for children, who by virtue of their immaturity need us to protect them.
In my previous post and podcast on the UNCRC (United Nations Rights of the Child) I reference an academic study on embedding ‘Rights Respecting Values’ in pre-verbal settings. In the study “A Significant Events Approach to Children's Rights with Children Under Three in Education and Care” nursery teachers are trained to see every child experience through a ‘rights’ lens. A nursery worker remarks, ‘surely being a nurturing and caring environment is enough’? The offending teacher is reprimanded by those leading the study stating “what they need to understand about the toddler’s upset is where her "‘rights” have gone wrong”. 2 year old Suzie cannot be having a bad day, or just need a cuddle, every experience is about her ‘rights’.
Enter into the fold a new highly controversial and politicised ‘anti-racism’ agenda and we have a real problem as teachers sideline evolutionary caring instincts in a commodified approach to managing the children. There are additional problems to, like embedding the ‘forced teaming’ of ‘intersectionality’ into the program which brings horrors like this one (for nursery kids, from Scottish government “100 Questions About Race”. )
What does gender ideology and asking kids about whether they are playing with their genitals have to do with race (and why is any nursery teacher being primed to ask? ) Well it’s all part and parcel of critical theory. Which is gender ideology, queer theory (no boundaries regarding sex/sexuality, that includes age, I cover that in my podcast and post on Scottish Comprehensive Sexuality Education)…and race.
In Critical theory all that matters is where you are on the ‘oppression scale’ based on superficial characteristics - what colour your skin, or what sexuality or disability you identify into. Critical theory robs individuals of agency to form relationships based on shared experiences, a recognition of shared humanity, the recognition of the complexity of a person and acknowledgement of the *kind* of person you are. In other words the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King’s famous nod to ‘content of character’ is no longer relevant.
To say there are problems that can/will/are coming from this is an understatement.
Already we can see how children have learned to ‘use race’ as a shield preventing any accountability or justice.
reports on Glasgow Councillor Audrey Dempsey whose daughter got targeted by black students in her school. The black children had been (and are) running ‘fight clubs’ wherein they identify and ambush a white child, videoing the attack and circulating the videos. Despite these accounts being reported and acknowledged by the police, the children continue in their schools unhindered.Instead of Glasgow City Council dealing with this issue -which is putting many children at risk (not least the offending children who are developing sociopathic behaviours) they decided to spin the story as if Audrey was at fault, and a racist.
I faced a similar issue with my own son who was one of the minority white boys at his former school. He was targeted by older boys who made up a lie about him ‘saying something about the Prophet’, getting their other pals ramped up and then proceeding to chase him into the toilet and assault him. But for his Muslim friends and my Muslim Mum friends I might not have found out. His friends stood up for him, forcing the older boys to acknowledge they had made the story up in order to target my son.
I would like to say it ended there, but the same boys proceeded to surreptitiously undermine and target him over the next few months. I watched my son collapse in on himself as I tried to do something about it. The final straw was when one day an older boy threatened my son and his pal with a weapon in the park. We moved schools. When I tried to address this with the school and the council, they wanted nothing to do with me.
In fact when I got access to my son’s school record through a Subject Access Request (SAR) I was shocked to find that the incident of the assault in the school had been recorded as ‘play fighting’. However in an even more worrying turns the SAR revealed a whole host of other ‘racist’ incidents that had been marked *against* my child.
The collection of ‘racist’ incidents that had been put onto his permanent record coincided with an activist teacher starting in post. One such incident had him ‘doing a Pakistani accent’ as being an ‘indicator of racism’. Up to this point my child had no such allegations lobbed against him (and none since). In fact he was popular amongst his friends at his old school, and in previous years the teachers would make the point of acknowledging his ‘good nature’ and that he would play with anyone from any year group with no prejudice or bias of any sort.
From the subjective wording placed into the report it seems to me that this activist teacher did not see my child as a child in his care, but as a ‘white male’. My son’s teacher failed in his duty to protect my child. But in this system none of that matters.
From Scottish Union for Education Newsletter 79: The danger of student-led activity based on CRT is that it can promote prejudice and intolerance by encouraging the prioritisation of group identity (usually based on skin colour) over personhood; it often seems to be fostering an us-versus-them mentality. Pupils of different racial or ethnic groups could be discouraged to risk interacting socially for fear of committing any action perceived as a ‘micro-aggression’
The whole process serves to dehumanise all it touches. It is a psychological assault on our children.
I happen to know that my friends here in Pollokshields - who happen to be Muslim/Scot Asian/Pakistani etc etc agree with me. Here’s the thing, Pollokshields is not a ‘blob’ of people who are all the same with the same aspirations and views based *even* around their religion. And my friends recognise that Muslims can do bad to (!) Seriously! Hence why *they* were the ones who had my back when my son was targeted.
So why do those in power continue to behave as if it is? The only public narrative allowed is that any indication that - yes - Muslims can do bad things to is met with posts like this from our former First Minister Humza Yousaf…
Like gender if we cannot report and deal honestly with what is before our eyes, what hope do we have? As pointed out with the account of Audrey Dempsey - what is that message we are sending to the offending children, who *happen* to be black? I am reminded of the Catholic Church Abuse Scandal, Jimmy Saville Abuse, and Rotheram Child Sexual Abuse Scandal. All continued well beyond the time that should have been morally acceptable by a million fold. Never again should be our mantra. We must put children first.
To that end the Catholic Church for all its failings, has ‘safeguarding’ on the front of every document.
And it is this myopia which creates a lot of noise around things like reparations for the trans Atlantic slave trade whilst not acknowledging the 50 million slaves in the world right now. Or that this singular view of history denies a whole host of other realities of the time like the fact that slavery in Africa predated European involvement or that life for ordinary Brits in the time of slavery was nasty, brutish and short.
Not to mention that politicians like David Lammy, Dawn Butler and Humza Yousaf make ironic claims that ‘children should learn about slavery so that it doesn’t happen again’ on videos from their mobile phone which have been created using cobalt from mines extracted by… child slaves. Pakistan still has - legally - slavery in its countries borders, the Brick Kiln Families. And on Humza Yousaf who was educated privately at Hutcheson Private school just a short distance from where I live makes many statements and plans which continue to keep my poor neighbours poor whilst elevating himself and others from his social class. Race again, becomes a shield which he can absolve himself from accountability or scrutiny or genuine action to improve things.
Yet our elected representatives seem immune to accountability. This week Georgia Edkins reported that the race quango the ‘Anti Racist Observatory’ would not be subject to public scrutiny.
This private organisation is being funded £3 million pounds out of the public purse to ‘advise’ civil servants on ‘anti-racist’ practices. It has been suggested that this is the starting line for a new quango not unlike TIE (Time for Inclusive Education) which serves to ‘embed’ ‘anti-racist’ practices into every lesson with no public scrutiny, accountability or criticality. At a time when children are lacking in basic literacy and numeracy skills the diluting basic and foundational education will further impoverish them, in particular the poor.
The ARO report is the basis of a wholesale change in how schools are to be managed -in it children are *taught* to racialise one another (indeed this language used in their report) has no reference to the fact they are speaking about CHILDREN. This is a another report which treats CHILDREN like adults in small bodies. There is no shared humanity referenced. It references the critical theorist Brazilian Paolo Freire author of ‘The Pedagogy of the Oppressed’ as a model of working wherein in every interaction children must count themselves as ‘oppressor’ or ‘oppressed’.
What’s more, it links to the activist race quango CRER’s 'anti-bullying' report which is pushing for Hate Crime to be tracked and monitored and children's data to be hoovered up by the SEEMIS system. (I have much to say on CRER which I will save for another post. None of it is good unsurprisingly)
What is the SEEMIS system? Originally designed to help multi agencies track vulnerable children care plans it's fast becoming a social credit tracking mechanism. These are the stats used to justify anti-racism programs in schools. What gets marked as a 'racist incident' - not unlike ALL the hate crime sh*** it is entirely subjective. Most often parents will have no idea their child's permanent record has something on it. I have heard of P1 children being recorded for racism for 'using the wrong words' like... 'black'. As said I had no idea my son had been marked for ‘racist incidents’ except for my doing a Subject Access Request, which was not straightforward and rather laborious. Not something most parents will have at their fingertips.
On reading the ARO report & looking at their numbers I cannot help but reflect on obvious problems. This is an activist/ideological document. It uses language of 'lived experience' and 'identity'. The stats used to justify the radical shift in how education is managed does not differentiate by educational level or economic circumstance. Who are these people who have answered this really?
Thinking on the Scotland I arrived to in 2000 in comparison to the Scotland I live in now - and there has been a massive increase in population. New migrants, migrants without English, migrants who are adjusting to a 'different culture' are all relevant to articulating and understanding what is needed on the ground.
This report does not do this.
It validates a certain political and ideological position which is being forced into schools, ones that ultimately could harm the very children it is purporting to elevate.
Looking further at the data used to justify their ‘activity’ and their £3 million of our tax pot? Only .07% of ‘BAME’ individuals in Scotland informed this project. It is clear this is not a document that has been backed by the electorate on the main. 99% of Scots and over 99% of 'BAME' Scots did not see/inform or support this project. Yet Scot Gov moves ahead creating chaos in it's wake.
I am certain this is not the world the majority of Scottish people want, not least the majority of ‘BAME’ individual who are being manipulated and weaponised in the process. We all must come together in shared purpose to build the world we want. That’s all we have.
As said, over the coming months I will be working with a team of parents, and with
to unpick this new anti-racism program. Knowledge is power I guess, that’s perhaps why they don’t want our children to have it. The words of Voldemort ‘‘There is no good or evil, there is only power and those too weak to seek it’ seems to be the anti-racist activists rallying cry. But what kind of world and society will we face in another generation if our babies are all cultivated to be zealots? History itself has some answers, and none of them are good. Stay tuned for more updates. Or get in touch if you want to be involved. (deemingdreaming@gmail.com)Thank you for reading. Please consider supporting my work. You can ‘buy me a coffee’ here. Thank you and your team for this exposé. It's truly shocking. Brainwashing and grooming of very young children.
Thank you for all the good work you’re doing up in Scotland 🙏
