In this episode I sit down with former teacher and author James Ross. I was inspired to contact James after reading his book "Must Try Harder" an account of his time at a secondary school teacher in the North East of England. With humour, insight and sensitivity James recounts his trials and tribulations navigating the evolving educational sphere and the challenges of the students housed within it.
Having the opportunity to speak with James was a pleasure as he expounded on his own journey from being a failed student from a working class area, to a late attender at university, to a teacher advocating for the students in his charge.
Do have a listen and read his book(s)! I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did.
