THE SHAME OF PRIDE

Here we are at the start of July having made it through the ‘Holy’ Month of Pride. Many have commented that there wasn’t as much a flurry this year…. the notorious LGBT Youth Scotland -whose founder was put in jail for running a paedophile ring -wonders ‘why people are not participating in pride this year’? (it is perhaps worth another post exploring how ‘pride’ once one of the seven deadly sins, has become something to strive for… another day!)

Yes, THAT LGBT Youth Scotland….”HOW DO THEY FIX IT?” Oh the irony….

As if their own history should not be enough of an indication (they never held a public inquiry and the charity continued operating as ‘normal’)…

This month there was another conviction of a Pride activist given carte blanche access to children convicted for multiple offences including the rape of a 12 year old boy:

Here we see Stephen Ireland with a child in fetish gear. We see Stephen Ireland instructing a ‘young person’ how to prep related to having sex. And we see the badges handed out by his organisation Pride in Surrey ‘You are Safe With Me’.

(And LGBTYS wonders why they are not to be trusted? What happens in these ‘Rainbow clubs’ ???)

It was revealed that in 2021 Pride in Surrey volunteers Marion Harding and her partner had raised concerns about Ireland that were (for all essential purposes)… ignored.

When Marion Harding raised concerns about Stephen Ireland’s engagement with children she was pulled into a bureaucratic minefield through which there was (the familiar) much noise, and no action. And children were harmed as a result.

This is not a one off however, Pride in Surrey which continues operating undeterred, joins a list of other LGBT+ organisations who used their power, privilege and access to children to horrific ends and when people complain their concerns are sidelined for ‘the cause’.

So when LGBT Youth Scotland asks - oh so ironically- ‘what can be done’? we can be forgiven for not believing they are really interested in the answer…. Of course the timing of Ireland’s conviction is interesting as LGBTYS padeophile’s founder is shortly due for release.

To reiterate LGBT Youth Scotland’s former CEO and partner were jailed for running the most notorious paedophile network in Scotland’s history and are now set for release. The charity never conducted a full public inquiry into their involvement with the (publicly funded) charity and have retained ‘special status’ and funding via Scot Gov. They remain fully embedded in schools, cultural bodies and public institutions.

Is it any wonder people are avoiding any association like the plague?

, one of the founding members of the LGB Alliance and historian of the ‘problematic’ associations embedded within LGB & T+ history notes:

“The LGBTQ+ lobby is riddled with predators because it doesn’t take child safeguarding seriously and endlessly promotes the sexualising of children. So another day, another paedophile exposed…these lobbies have no interest in making the world better.”

These organisation are ego driven(at best), their aim is solely self promotion and self preservation. And children - our most vulnerable members of society - are merely pawns for them.

Many have tried to complain democratically via the available complaint procedures - as Marion above- only to be bounced back via the circular wave of bureaucratic procedures. When did *not* wanting children to be sexualised become problematic?

And yet these organisations wave words like ‘inclusivity’ as a magic charm absenting them of any accountability. Not only that, the agencies set to ‘protect’ us from badly run organisations are facilitating the flow. Just in May, Wings Over Scotland revealed shenanigans between LGBT Youth Scotland and OSCR (The Charity Regulator) wherein OSCR told LGBTYS how to ‘get around the law’ so they could continue operating in Primary schools (their previous remit was 13+).

And what happens when the means by which public bodies are kept to account no longer function? Parents back out.

What then when parents cannot back out of sexualised education modules and trans ideology? In Wales and now France the ‘Comprehensive Sex Education is mandatory for children from 3 years old.

The new classes are promoted as being ideologically neutral, but in reality they are nothing of the sort. In second grade (typically aged seven to eight), children will be introduced to the unscientific and highly contested idea that some people are transgender. By fifth grade (10 to 11 years old), they will be taught that there is no automatic connection between sex and gender, and that gender identity is a feeling. In their final year of high school (aged 17 to 18), students will be expected to ‘understand LGBTQ+ struggles and the history of Pride marches’. As one critic writing in Le Journal du Dimanche notes, the expectation that students will demonstrate understanding suggests a far greater degree of acceptance than a goal of ‘examining’ or ‘discussing’ those issues.

Something that comes up again and again is that none of these programs acknowledge the vulnerability of children. Not one recognises the unique, fragile and fleeting space that is childhood. There is a reason - in history - that pre-pubscent children were targets for political indoctrination. These days it comes with soft language and cartoon figures, softly priming children to accept sexualised language, and gender identity.

Funny I grew up on a diet of Big Bird and the Grouch and don’t seem to remember Sesame Street being a hotbed of exclusion.

On the other hand I have to question whether this is such a good message for children. Because sometimes people are not welcome. Sometimes people are not safe, contrary (as noted earlier in this article) to what badge they might wear.

Three pedophiles. James Rennie -the former chief executive of LGBT Youth Scotland was convicted of leading the largest pedophile ring in Scottish history. His partner James Strachan was also convicted. Andrew Easton another paedophile associated with the organisation was convicted of crimes against children. Despite these associations (and more) LGBTYS remains entrenched in Scottish schools fully funded by the Scottish government. Funny enough their badges did not protect the children they harmed.

Take the three men above, all worked for the notorious LGBT Youth Scotland and all three were found guilty of abuse of children. So colour me doubtful but I don’t think any organisation that works with children that feels beholden to *make a statement* about inclusion is really in touch with what is best for children….. ahem….

Imaginate is ‘the national organisation of Scotland which develops, celebrates and presents theatre and dance for children and *young people*’. (‘young people’ the language du jour which obfuscates the vulnerability of older children which is who they are referring to) Of course this statement was their hyperbolic FREAK OUT in response to the Supreme Court ruling on reiterating the definition of the words man/woman/sex. I am sure the babies and toddlers attending their productions are totally concerned about that. (in other words, not at all). Can the adults return to the room please?

INCLUSIVITY - another rascal term weaponised for manipulation of children

In order to be included, one must first be identified. Identification is a funny business because it involves the person assigning you into your ‘category’ to distill you down to one bit. I have suggested before it seems that this inclusion becomes very exclusive as by narrowing the bandwidth of ‘who one is’ to a single element, we also deny all the other many complex bits that make us uniquely who we are.

“More broadly, ‘inclusivity’ has become a problem, particularly as a stand-alone ‘value’ or policy to be followed by default in society, at any cost. This has brought with it a threat to boundaries which have little democratic mandate and which interest groups manipulate easily.”

And as we become primed to see each other algorithmically we are no longer organic and changeable. There is mechanistic value placed onto human life. Which we can see further play out in our approach not just to LGBTQIA+ categories but in aspects of life (surrogacy, IVF and abortion) and death (assisted dying). Life is merely about choice, a switch to be flicked on or off at will with no consequences.

Whilst this may make sense on a page, it has little bearing to the impact one’s life has in the company of others. We are not merely individual parts to be divided into cubes. Our lives are not so separate from each other. And we are infinitely complex. These LGBTQIA+ organisations and inclusivity drives deny this and, by default, deny our full humanity. And this is not to be tolerated.
