I’m happy I spent a long time in Scotland before all this madness started. I used to fantasize about living there, as my dad’s family came from Harris to Chile… but, not anymore. Besides, I’d hate to become another immigrant.

What has happened here is awful. One could probably argue the same intent happening world over but with Scotland being a smaller country it’s more pronounced, saturated. I would not emigrate here now. No way. I hope and pray more people start waking up and claiming back what good remains to build something sustainable for the future. For now… we’re in a scramble. By and large the people of Scotland are good folks getting on with things - like everywhere. But has been pointed out to me the vast majority of Russians were ‘good people’ before communism killed millions of people, the vast majority of Chinese were ‘good people’ before Mao was able to justify the slaughter of millions of his citizens, the vast majority of Germans were ‘good people’ before the holocaust took root…. and so it goes. There must be a tipping point. Hopefully there is enough consensus before we approach anything of that level of destruction and control. Time will tell.
