The Scottish arts are subsidised agitprop within a socialist state, which makes artists government employees cosplaying as countercultural provocateurs. Since self-infantilisation is their goal (polymorphous perversity and constant demands without corresponding duties or responsibilities) it was only logical that Babies Lives Matter would be the next frontier.

It is beyond parody. I keep thinking of those Brave New World nurseries....

When I saw this title, I thought first of all - how about the right to life? Since we now have de facto abortion up to birth…… I don’t suppose that features in the Scottish Government’s frame at all….

It is deeply ironic isn’t it? Personally I think this is all eugenicist. The separation of babies is very Huxley‘s ‘Brave New World’ wherein mothers nurture is to be abhorred. We can follow that thinking to surrogacy where women are merely ‘incubators’ for the ‘desired parents’. It’s a great process of dissociation from ourselves and those who make us. Scottish government is in deep.

Always feels very torn from reality when money is spent on nonsense, be it detrimental or just simply wasteful. I guess if all the roads were perfect, all the schools delivered amazing academic results, the NHS wait times were nonexistent, crime levels were miniscule, then we could probably look at something non essential and say "hey, let's fund this too, why not", but the book on pregancy that NHS Lothian sent me just casually drops this truth bomb: "3% of babies are born with fetal alcohol syndrome". We clearly have more pressing issues to tackle, don't we

Yes it is an utter luxury to waffle on about these things. I don’t think (at best) these initiatives make one whit of difference but serve as a kind of mantra to elite beliefs. At worst they train people who interact with and care for babies (non parents) to see babies as separate entities to their families. It’s the UN project. As it progresses up children fed more of the secular religion of rights leading us always to be at war with each other. Many comment on their children coming home and narcissisticly asserting ‘their rights’ when parents ask them to do things. And as you point out it is (ironically) the poor and vulnerable who miss out. Meanwhile artists not trained to- make art. There will be a kind of communist style body of work to look back on I think. I say this as I hope it’s a phase a passing insanity…..

It is a passing phase, I can assure you, but also the last time something similar took root to this degree... well, it took 3 generations and 70 years for it to be dispelled.
